Over 155 years in the making

The Northern College of Art has been part of Middlesbrough's creative landscape since 1870, when the original Middlesbrough School of Art opened its doors to support a new generation of artists, designers and makers.

More than 155 years later, our Middlesbrough campus offers Further Education, including A Levels, Diplomas and specialist creative courses, in a modern town centre building designed for contemporary creative learning.

The College forms one connected institution with The Northern School of Art in Hartlepool, creating clear progression routes from Further Education into Higher Education.
